No. The current form saves your project details and permission for QUOTES AND DEALS to contact you. A later introduction requires a separate permission step identifying the intended installers. Reading the guides or using the comparison tool does not require registration.

A useful price needs a property-specific scope: equipment, roof access, electrical work, metering, connection and any removal of old equipment. Ask for a cash price including GST, itemised extras and separate incentive deductions. A headline package price alone cannot establish your final cost.

Give providers the same brief, then compare exact models, system size, forecast assumptions, installation scope, total payable price and aftercare. Mark missing information as unknown. Our worksheet keeps the proposals side by side and highlights questions to ask.

Ask for the actual installer’s name and Solar Accreditation Australia number, then use SAA’s accreditation-status checker. Check the relevant electrical licence separately. The installer, selling business and equipment approvals are separate checks; a logo on a quote does not verify all three.

Start with the electricity you use after sunset and the solar energy available to charge a battery. Ask for seasonal modelling, usable capacity, power output and backup reserve. A larger battery can be underused, so compare what each size will actually do for your household.

Often yes, but the installer must check your inverter, connection, electrical installation and proposed battery location. Ask whether the design keeps the existing inverter, adds separate battery equipment or replaces it, and whether metering, switchboard or approval work changes the price.

Only if the system is designed for backup operation. Ask which circuits are supported, what extra hardware is included, the power limits and whether solar can recharge the battery during an outage. Do not assume every battery provides whole-home backup.

Have the existing system assessed first. Compare the fault, equipment condition, compatibility, remaining warranties and future energy needs. Request separate repair and upgrade scopes where practical, and confirm effects on your network connection and electricity arrangements before deciding.

An address identifies the project location; roof type and storeys help frame access and installation questions. Our form asks for Tile, Tin, Klip Lok, Concrete Flat Roof or Other so unusual details can be recorded. These answers prepare a brief and do not replace a site inspection.

Choose Not Sure in the form and ask your installer to verify the supply. We also accept Single Phase, Three Phase and Two Phase when known. Do not open the switchboard or remove covers to investigate; the electrical assessment belongs with a qualified person.

Yes, these properties can be included in a project brief. Ask the designer to assess the actual roof condition, shading, mounting approach, drainage and safe access. Feasibility and additional costs depend on the property; the roof category alone cannot confirm a suitable design.

Eligible solar systems and batteries can receive support through the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme. Battery support is delivered through the Cheaper Home Batteries Program. The amount depends on system eligibility, installation timing and certificate calculations. Ask for the deduction to be shown separately in the quote.

Some programs can be combined, but each has its own eligibility, approval timing and contract requirements. Check the exact scheme and current state guidance before committing. A loan, a VPP payment and an installation rebate are different benefits and should be compared separately.

The Solar Sharer Offer is an opt-in electricity offer introduced from 1 July 2026 in eligible parts of NSW, South Australia and South East Queensland. It provides a daily free-usage window subject to plan limits and conditions. It is an electricity plan, not an installation rebate.

VPP capability and VPP membership are different. The federal program does not itself require you to join a VPP, although separate state support or a retailer offer may. Check control, reserve, tariffs and exit terms before accepting a VPP contract.

Identify the business named in your contract and raise the issue with it. Where one supplier sells the equipment and installation, subcontracting does not remove that supplier’s responsibility. Product warranties, workmanship terms and statutory consumer guarantees are separate; keep the contract and a written record of the issue.

Ask for the final design and equipment records, applicable electrical compliance documents, connection and metering status, commissioning information, warranty terms and service contacts. Obtain your own monitoring access and a demonstration of normal operation and any backup circuits.
