THE SHORT ANSWER

Record your full address, number of storeys, roof material and known supply phase. Use Other for an unusual roof or property and Not Sure when the phase is unknown. The installer must confirm site conditions and electrical suitability before final design.

What should I record about the roof?

Our form separates Tile, Tin, Klip Lok and Concrete Flat Roof, with Other for anything else. Describe mixed materials or uncertainty in the notes. Ask the installer what mounting, weatherproofing, drainage and roof-condition checks are included. The category is a starting point, not confirmation that any particular fixing method is suitable.

Why do the number of storeys and access matter?

Tell the provider whether the property is Single Storey, Double Storey or Other. Mention access restrictions and shared or strata areas. Ask the quote to identify the access arrangements and any associated costs instead of assuming every installation has the same scope.

What should I do if the supply phase is unknown?

Select Not Sure. If already known, record Single Phase, Three Phase or Two Phase. Ask a qualified installer to verify the connection and explain the proposed inverter, battery and backup arrangement. Do not remove switchboard covers or inspect live equipment to complete a form.

What else belongs in the property brief?

Add the existing solar equipment, shading concerns, whether you own or rent, and what you want the system to do. Ask the installer to confirm network approval, equipment placement and any property permissions before committing to installation.
