The selling business, installation team and warranty contacts may be different. Establish who is responsible in writing, retain your records and use original reporting and current consumer guidance to assess claims.
The lesson from the ACA report.
The A Current Affair video linked below describes failed systems after a supplier closed, roof damage and disputes over subcontractor responsibility. It also presents a comparison platform’s approach. The final update says the roof-damage customer later received compensation after tribunal proceedings.
Keep history in its proper place.
The video is a historical report, not a current audit of installers. Its company counts, consumer totals and platform promises are not QUOTES AND DEALS claims. We link to the original report and do not imply an endorsement by the program.
The issue is still relevant.
In July 2026, the ACCC described unsuitable battery systems, faulty installation, poor performance and difficulties resolving issues. That supports a focus on suitability, clear contracts and follow-through. It does not justify saying every installer is unreliable.
